From Study Abroad to Forever

First We Meet
March 22, 2018We both attended the University of Georgia, but our paths first crossed far from Athens. During junior year, we joined a study abroad program at Oxford in the United Kingdom. Between classes, late-night study sessions, and exploring a new city, we found ourselves spending more and more time together.

First Date
April 29, 2018Our first official date was at a small café in Oxford called The Rose. Unless you ask Grace, who will tell you it was a movie or something. Good thing she doesn't know how to code, so I get to write the narrative. Anyway, over scones and tea, we (well, really just me, Camden) quickly realized that what started as friendship had the potential to be something much more. Shortly after this date, Grace looked me in the eyes and said "Don't get your hopes up. I have commitment issues." I laughed right in her face, and it was at that moment I knew she'd be mine.

In A Relationship
June 11, 2018When we returned home from Oxford, I had a plan: I was going to ask Grace to be my girlfriend at a Braves game in July. Grace, however, had other ideas. On our very last night in Oxford (on a bus, completely sober of course), Grace confronted me and forced the issue. So much for that surprise.

Today
2018 - 2026After returning home, we spent a few years in Atlanta starting our careers and building a life together. In 2023, we moved back to Athens for Grace to attend law school, bringing us closer to where our story began. A year later, our family grew with Birdie, a spirited (ChatGPT put this much nicer than me. I think my initial draft said "batshit crazy") English Cocker Spaniel who’s been both sidekick and troublemaker ever since. (Again, ChatGPT must have misunderstood when I said "Birdie likes to literally kick us in the side when we're trying to relax").
